Dear Dr Panigrahi
I acknowledge receipt of your email dated 02 March 2018, and wish to advise you further.
The IOPC has not referred your complaint to any external organisation.
As we previously advised you on 13 February 2018, we have forwarded your complaint to the Professional Standards Department (PSD) of Kent Police for them to consider and respond to you within 15 working days, as per the police complaints process set out in legislation. To clarify, this is the only action we have taken regarding your police complaint.
The PSD have until 06 March 2018 to respond to you with their recording decision regarding your complaint. The IOPC has no involvement in your police complaint at this stage, however if the PSD decide not to record your complaint, you can appeal against this decision to the IOPC.
I trust this clarifies our position, however if you have any queries about the information provided, please call us on 0300 020 0096.
