Dear Dr Panigrahi,

Thank you for contacting the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). We acknowledge receipt of your 4 emails dated 21, 27 and 30 January 2022, the content of which has been noted. The IOPC reference number is 2019/117327, which you should quote in all future correspondence regarding this matter.

Further to your emails, I note that you ask for the IOPC’s involvement in an ongoing complaint with the Professional Standards Department (PSD) of Kent Police.

Please note, the IOPC does not have any involvement in a police investigation into a complaint. This means that the IOPC cannot intervene in the progress of an investigation or instruct the police to change the person in charge of investigating your complaint. Any requests, comments or criticisms you have regarding the ongoing police investigation should be made either directly to the Investigating Officer (IO) or to the PSD. Alternatively, you can bring this to the attention of the relevant body at the end of the investigation through the review process.

I would therefore recommend that you continue to discuss this matter with the PSD directly at this stage. I have added their contact details below:
